Back in the D! at the auto show.

This year’s show is a little disappointing for me. After last year, I figured the Detroit Three would come out blazing some really spectacular shows and exhibits. Nope. It seemed really toned down.

The foreign automakers did a pretty good job on Sunday, with Mercedes showing off by building a full ice rink on which Olympic skaters skated and started their press conference with a dog sled team. Also, Audi showed off a little star power by having singer Seal perform.

GM took the cake with celebrities, but I still say, I’m hardly impressed with the extravagance this year. And even more! The free lunches for journalists ran out before noon. What is that about???
